Comment here and ask me any question you want, I promise to answer truthfully no matter what it is.--But only one!
And then you have to post the same offer to your own journal.

I do not know if this remained when the town was taken over, I ran into two of the council members fleeing when I first found out about the takeover.

Date: 2008-11-02 05:20 am (UTC)It kept the town running really well, to be completely honest, really effective, a sort of check and balance system that kept itself in check. I mean, the Lord has certain powers over the council--control over the Clanks, city defense, and he has the ability to appeal laws to the council.
The council runs day-to-day events, the courts, so on and so forth, and law enforcement within the city, as well as trade negotiations (although that usually requires the Lord or at least an of-age member of the House, depending on what sort of negotiations are being done).

And I am thankful that you aren't Clanks, I like the Foundling Guard members I have met so far.

And the feeling's quite mutual by all accounts.

Date: 2008-11-02 06:00 am (UTC)More or less, if it wasn't for Wulfenbach, the infighting between the Houses would probably still be going on. He got tired of it, came in, and took over with the motto 'Don't Make Me Come Over There'.
Really, it's almost amazing and hilarious how effective that threat is.
Either way, Wulfenbach was mainly trying to keep balance, and keep the Sparks from wiping each other out.

Date: 2008-11-02 07:20 am (UTC)It's a self winding system, so long as the chain keeps turning, it keeps winding itself, and as a back up, it winds as I move as well. If I bend my leg, the quiet clicking you might hear over the ticking is it winding up the backup system.
Of course, if my drive chain breaks, I end up having to limp awkwardly until I can get it replaced.

Date: 2008-11-02 07:46 am (UTC)And it is, at that. I always try to have a brass chain to keep it all matched and gold colored.

Date: 2008-11-02 08:46 am (UTC)I.. would, but the clothing from the times beyond mine makes me admittedly rather wary, the costume was just that, a costume and the mindset didn't bother me (and it was actually really comfortable, in looking back).
I am used to longer skirts and dresses, mainly because that is what I was raised in, not to mention it is the standard of most of my world at the moment.
